How?

We work with tight schedules, small budgets and limited resources. Our focus is not only on big projects that tackle the big problems but also on small and medium scale ones. Through the use of collective intelligence we collaborate with other disciplines, forming flexible and loose research networks with other fields.

We build a symbiotic relationship and collaborate with the community in both the design and building-process giving them a sense of ownership, pride, and most importantly enabling them to continue building on the projects without creating dependence.

Our designs highlight the area’s diversity, heritage and encourage the development of national identity . We combine many elements such local building techniques, indigenous architecture elements, and modern innovation and seek out new technologies that allow the use of locally sourced materials. We build a open and adaptable systems that can be built on over time.

Catalogue and prototyping are key aspects of our projects. We record and archive the projects, local techniques and skills learned in the form of a database similar to the Yellow Pages and use a shared flow of information and knowledge to enable continuous improvement
